However, much to my disappointment it continues to replace words with what it thinks should go in the sentence, even if the word I typed was done so spelled correctly. I have checked and rechecked to confirm that I in fact have all possible options in the SwiftKey configuration which are related to Spell Check and auto-correct turned off. It can give me all the recommendations it wants, and maybe I'll use them, but it shouldn't replace anything I type on it's own. I NEVER want my phone, or an app to change anything I've typed, EVER. I have always had a sorted relationship with my phones, and the apps I run on them, Swipe especially. Now to my issue: I've got both the production and the beta versions on my phone, but because I'm a maverick renegade, I use the Beta. There are a handful of features and characteristics which I preferred about Swipe, but there are a LOT more things about SwiftKey that I had been looking for. So I just switched over from the Swipe keyboard (which isn't being continued as a program) and am still trying to get used to SwiftKey. However the only accents which are used with any frequency are the acute, grave, and circumflex on a vowel or cedilla on 'C' the other fifty-or-so accented characters available when the 'Show all accented characters' option is on are or little use to me. * As an English-speaker living in Québec, I occasionally need to type a French word or place name which contains an accented character. However, this means SwiftKey insists on making the default long-press symbol on 'X' the pound symbol since our currency is the Canadian dollar, I'd much rather have it default to the dollar sign. * As I Canadian, I use the English (UK) locale, since there isn't a dedicated Canadian English locale and we mostly use the British spellings for words. * The number keys, when you have the dedicated number row on, don't have any long-press symbols assigned at all. (Yes, I know that if you turn on the dedicated number row, 'E' gets tilde as its long-press instead of 3, but that costs valuable screen real-estate.) I'd gladly give up, say, double-quote on 'C' to get quicker access to it. * I use tilde (~) a lot, to indicate a sentence spoken with a joking tone. It would be very nice if there were a way to adjust what symbol(s) are in the long-press menu of each key, as well as which one of those is the default.
